Hi! I’m Shawna-
(She/her) A local to this area, but a traveler at heart. My journey has taken me from Southeast Asia to Central America, among other beautiful places, with my trusty green backpack by my side. Along the way, I’ve had the joy of connecting with people from all walks of life. Experiencing different ways of moving and living has deepened my empathy, expanded my worldview, and continues to shape how I show up in my work and in my community: with attentiveness, compassion, and an understanding of the power of movement.
Professional Background:
I’m a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) with a degree in Applied Science. With over two decades of dance experience, being a dance instructor and active performer— movement is truly at the heart of what I do.
I have experience working in an acute care hospital setting as a COTA, where I developed a strong foundation in safety, adaptability, and meeting people’s individual pacing—this experience continues to inform how I approach my work. Over time, I realized I wanted to support people in a different way—one that allows for more sustained support, meaningful connection, and the freedom to work holistically in a personal training setting.
In my free time, you can find me skateboarding with my hubby, being a lizard in the sun, cuddling with my kitty furbabies, watching horror films, or enjoying literally any kind of fruit I can get my hands on.
