Hi! I’m Shawna-

(She/her) I’m a local to the Asheville area, but a traveler at heart. My journey has taken me from Southeast Asia to Central America and many beautiful places in between. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people from many different backgrounds and ways of life. These experiences have deepened my empathy, expanded my perspective, and continue to shape how I show up in my work and community- with curiosity, compassion, and a belief in the power of movement.

Professional Background

I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) with a degree in Applied Science. With over 20 years of dance experience, a background as a dance instructor, and an active performance career, movement has always been at the center of my life.

My experience working in an acute care hospital setting as a COTA/L built a strong foundation in safety, adaptability, and meeting people where they are. While my work as a personal trainer remains within the scope of fitness, my background in occupational therapy continues to influence the way I approach movement: with attention to individual needs, meaningful goals, sustainability, and the whole person.

I created Mountain Blossom Movement to provide a space where people can build strength, explore movement, and feel supported through every stage of their journey.

When I’m not training, teaching, or creating new programs, you can usually find me skateboarding with my hubby, soaking up the sun like a little lizard, cuddling my kitty furbabies, watching horror films, or enjoying basically any fruit I can get my hands on.
